This week I'm in Eindhoven since my PhD student Mohammad Farshi defended his thesis on Tuesday. I've been working closely with Mohammad for the last four years and it's been a real pleasure. We had some very nice papers, among them a SoCG paper in 2005, an ESA paper in 2006 and then a SODA paper in 2007, all of them on interesting spanner problems.
In October, before he submitted his thesis, he started as a postdoc at Carleton University with Michiel Smid. I'm sure he'll be very successful.
Congratulations Mohammad!
